aka RéY is a rapper, composer & producer from South East London, with an original blend of styles that draw comparisons with the jazz infused, lyrical, soul centric strand of hip-hop. His music employs an eclectic range of instruments including the djembe, horns, strings & harps lending his idiosyncratic sound a “big band” aesthetic.
I designed a cover artwork for aka RéY’s single Worldwide 2.0, translating the feel and energy of the song into visual output. As part of the launch of the single, I organised an exhibition telling a story of the process behind the final artwork. The event took place in Picturehouse Central by Piccadilly in central London.
